Steps away from the Carnegie Hall in New York City,

Allegro is a luthier-owned, luthier-operated violin shop that center the lived experience of MUSICIANS AND CRAFTERS who work with VIOLIN, VIOLA, and VIOLONCELLO at the highest levels.

Experience at Allegro is a highly personal one between the musician and the luthier. Finding a new instrument or bow that can help push through your next stage in playing, getting a regular maintenance check-up & sound adjustment for an upcoming concert, or even a big emergency restoration after an unfortunate accident; all require a lot of communication, expertise, and mutual trust for optimal result. Founder and luthier Jeemin wants to hear about your life — what moves you, what your goals are, what your body is saying, and how it all informs your creative work. This in turn informs our work as the luthier, to help provide the musicians best working situation for their craft.

A violinist herself, Jeemin is an experienced violin restorer with 18 years at the bench, who has worked with many musicians on the international stages and with instruments of highest caliber around the world.

Whether you are a professional traveling the world, a student at a conservatory, or a parent of a gifted child embarking on a serious musical journey, we want to help optimize your violin, viola, or cello to the needs of your mind and body to achieve your goals and dreams in your craft. We’re in this together.
